Negative experience: The worst call center in Dubai. Imagine a medical clinic whose phones do not work for days at a time. A place where the internet goes down for several days, so that even if you manage to nail down an appt, they don’t know what you’re coming in for. And in any case, the waits are long… Such a shame about the admin because I really like my doctor.

Negative experience: Hello everyone I wish all of you can see my review about the experience of my friend, she is from china and she had a very bad experience with Dr.Hani he is a dentist, she went to him to do bone implant and the work it take two months, imagine he cut 3 times and until now the bone is open and she is suffering. And when she told him in polite way that she will go to complain he reply immediately and he asked her to use such this type of language. I want to understand what she supposed to tell him after all this of course she has to complain It is such a worst experience and now the lady she stop working and she is traveling to her country to fix it. We don’t recommend this doctor to you guys

Negative experience: Unprofessional and always delayed even when there aren’t many patients!!! The staff isn’t motivated to do even the bare minimum. The hospital also lost all the patient data due to some cyber attack according to the reception which shows the poor security and eliminates all trust in this organization. Staff takes pictures of the patient IDs on their personal phones !

Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed with the consistently poor customer service at the American Hospital. The front desk staff are generally unhelpful, inattentive, and seem unwilling to assist beyond the bare minimum. The standard excuse for any delay or issue is always “our system is down,” which has become a frustrating and overused response. The process of booking an appointment is especially aggravating—it often takes an unreasonably long time, filled with awkward silence while the staff stares at their screen without providing any updates. You’re left standing there, unsure if anything is actually happening, until you have to ask, “Is my appointment confirmed?” only to receive a cold, dismissive reply like “Wait, please.” The attitude is unacceptable and far from the level of professionalism expected at a reputed medical facility. Just today, I approached a North African receptionist (possibly Tunisian or Moroccan) at the main desk to book an appointment with one of the doctors. The interaction was yet another example of the same indifferent behavior and lack of urgency or courtesy. This level of service is simply not acceptable for a hospital where patients come expecting care, attention, and professionalism. Major improvements are needed in staff training, responsiveness, and communication.

I was helpless—until a kind lady approached her, spoke gently, and somehow turned her fear into laughter. She was truly magical! I believe her name was Sarah, the clinic manager. I can’t thank her enough. Dr. Lana was equally amazing—professional, kind, and incredibly gentle with my daughter. We both felt completely at ease. I’m so glad I chose this clinic and will definitely return for my own treatment.

Negative experience: Worst dental experience ever. Not only they made me suffer for a long time for late and wrong diagnosis and faulty root canal treatment ( with more than twenty visits), but also one of the dentists had a discriminative attitude towards my country, and unfortunately I have never received any answers to my complaints email till now although I contacted several times.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Al Hasan did a great job in doing the needed tests when he noticed my BP was high. That gave us a clear picture of what's going on and despite eventually referring me to a cardiologist, he continued to follow up. Now things are under control and he pretty much saved the day.

Negative experience: Half my family are doctors so I'm sensitive to posting critical reviews. However, the surgical errors (concluded by peer review) combined with the hospital ignoring my open surgical wound when I raised it six+ times, compels me to warn others. I had to go to another medical facility to have the surgical wound treated, and am left with a very large scar. I had a mole removed by Dr Diane Maalouf (clinic director and consultant dermatologist) following cancer screening. The stitches were removed at the hospital and that day I noticed the wound was open. I emailed and called American Hospital Dubai six+ times over several days and received no response. Three doctors (two Australian, one German) each with 30+ years experience reviewed the case. They unanimously concluded incorrect surgical practices led to the wound opening: - The excision was the incorrect shape. It should be made in an eye shape to support closure. - The subcutaneous sutures were of too low grade, insufficient to support tension off the spine. They stated that the surgical malpractices are what they would observe by interns. The hospital has my name here and emails so knows how to reach me. They have ignored me so far.

Fantastic experience: Underwent a dental cleaning procedure this afternoon with the incomparable Dr. Antonia--her hands, soft as velvet, move with the precision of an artist. She communicates with clarity and calm confidence, and carries out each step herself with quiet dedication, as if entrusting even the smallest part of the procedure to another staff member would diminish the integrity of her craft. A rare presence--graceful, meticulous, and too exceptional to go unmentioned.

Negative experience: I honestly don't know what's worse: the medical care or the administrative process. Medical care:
I had three cavities treated over two appointments, five teeth in total. Just three weeks later, all the fillings had fallen out. When you choose a place like the American Hospital, where prices are three times higher than elsewhere (AED 5,000 for three cavities), you expect flawless work. What I experienced was beyond disappointing, I’ve never seen anything like it. If one filling came loose after several months, I could maybe understand. But all of them within three weeks? That’s malpractice. The result? I now have holes in teeth that were supposedly “treated.” Administration:
Even worse. Before the first appointment, I received a link asking for extensive personal details, including proof of health insurance. I uploaded a screenshot of my insurance as requested. Still, after the first visit, I was asked to pay the full amount, AED 3,000. Not knowing how the system worked, I paid, assuming I’d be reimbursed later. But my wife immediately informed me I was only supposed to pay 10%. The front desk had apparently failed to register my insurance correctly. Initially, I agreed to leave the AED 2,700 credit on file because I had more appointments scheduled. But after such poor treatment, I decided not to return and requested a refund. Weeks later, I’m still waiting. Every week, I get the same response: “Waiting for refund approval from management.” Ten seconds to take my money (by mistake), and now countless messages and weeks of waiting to get a refund for money that is rightfully mine.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Julian has been absolutely wonderful with both of my teenagers. He combines professionalism with a kind and approachable manner that instantly puts them at ease. He takes the time to listen, explain, and tailor treatments that truly work (and we've seen great results). It's rare to find a dermatologist who connects so well with teens while also delivering such effective care. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: My two teenagers and I have been seeing Dr. Julien Bachour for two years now and are extremely satisfied with his care. He is knowledgeable, caring, and professional. We really appreciate that he doesn't overprescribe medications and often recommends effective creams. He is an excellent dermatologist; we highly recommend him!!

Fantastic experience: I received an urgent Root Canal Treatment on a broken LR 2nd molar tooth. I was in severe and constant pain. I was treated by Dr. Shima and her assistant. They were both very thorough, explanatory and professional throughout the process. Job was done in 2 sessions, and now I have fully recovered. I recommend Dr. Shima for her approach and quality of work, and the staff at American Hospital for their friendliness and professionalism. Top quality medical services in this AH branch. Thank you!

Negative experience: Absolutely Poor Physio, orthopaedic team, and dermatologist. I went there to get lower back physio as I experienced pain, the physiotherapist pressed my tail bones so hard leaving me in unbearable pain for next 2-3 days and this made my condition worse. Massages are always done on muscles and not on bones which is a basic its shocking to see such bsic knowledge lacking. On top of that the Orthopaedic doctor failed to conduct proper examinations and coordinate with insurance providers due to which no further examinations could happen. Its better to show to another hospital rather than risking your health by coming here. I also earlier had an appointment with derma where I complained about acne and how I can reduce it for which she gave me medicines. Later while applying for a few days I noticed my skin started peeling off. I was given a peeling cream without telling me its one or advising me to stay away from sun, that too for acne!!! Horrible service. Do not recommend going there as unprofessional and untrained doctors and staff are kept.

Negative experience: I had a knee surgery in march 2024, and I’m almost fully recovered. I ended up thinking if it was the case if I kept being treated by Jovan mikovic as physiotherapist in this clinic. I spent 6 months doing physiotherapy with him with no or very little improvements. One day he told me to find a personal trainer, and that’s when si decided to change physiotherapy center. After 3 months at the new center i am back to doing sport. I haven’t reported the situation to DHA only for lack of time, but you should stay away from this physiotherapy center if you want to stay healthy

Fantastic experience: Dr. Rawand Al Basha is the best dentist - she listens to all concerns, does her analysis and necessary x-rays, and discusses solutions and explains the issues. I would though say booking an appointment with the hospital is horrible - i need to call 10 times and they say they will call back and they rarely do. Negative experience: Went to the American Hospital for a simple blood test. Lady at the counter comes up to me to say the test was rejected by my insurance. So, I called my insurance who told me to tell the hospital to apply for the test again so they could approve it. I approached the desk person again and she said it still wasn't approved. So, I sat there for nearly 3 hours while this foolishness went on in the background. At the end, I ended up leaving in disgust. The fact that the hospital would make patients wait for this long for a simple blood test when I already have insurance is pure greed. I never went back to that hospital.

Negative experience: I had worse experiences with Dr. Dr.Karifala Tarawali, I went with lots of pain twice and he decided to do simple feelings but still pain was there and i got to know he was going holiday, i had to check other dentist since my pain was much more and could belive its from same tooth and they shown me in xray that how he filled my tooth is pushing my gum plus the tooth needs 100% root canal , i believed he was in hurry for vacation, they even informed me he didn't use the permanent material for feeling , Funny Fact my sister went for her tooth and she was facing the pain the Dr said im going on holiday so come this evening and said it will be normal after sometimes…. please dont play with people health and if u dont really have time dont take patient!!! we are not responsible for your holiday payment

Negative experience: Wrong superficial dental intervention, after checking in another clinic they told me the filling was temporary and was pushing the gums causing immense pain. Not advised

Negative experience: Long wait time, system is always down, i went to my appointment on time and the lady took 30 minutes to register me. Tried to get my blood work done And they took another 30 minutes to register me even though they called me before and said they are ready

Fantastic experience: Dr Al-Hasan Gagham is a wonderful doctor. I went for a check up and he sent me immediately to Emergency for important scans and proposed treatments. Without his considerable knowledge I would have become extremely unwell. I cannot praise him enough. He is a very genuine and kind Gentleman and The American Hosptial are lucky to have him.

Fantastic experience: I booked an appointment for a check up with American Hospital and was appointed to Dr. Al Hassan. There were several issues at hand that needed attention from a range of specialised doctors. Dr. Hassan explained and arranged for everything very professionally and I felt in good hands being looked after. He listens to you and explains in layman terms what procedures are needed and doesn’t just prescribe a whole bunch of medicine like many other doctors are doing but only what’s necessary. I’ve been so pleased with his service and expertise and are recommending him to everyone I know who are in need of medical assistance. In my case it was also a huge benefit that he’s German so we could speak the same language. I can highly recommend Dr. Hassan to anyone who is looking for a genuine, honest doctor who actually is there to help out

Negative experience: I’m shocked! I got into really bad situation after the first visit to doctor Al Hassan. I came with complains for thyroid body and heart. But he prescribed me a long long list of analysis for liver, vitamin d, c, omega 3 etc. This huge list was expensive and would use all my insurance coverage. I refused and asked to cancel these analyses bc my thyroid analysis were rejected by insurance. It’s been more than 1 months as I struggle: I asked receptionist to cancel, I called to American Hospital to reject it, I did it all many times and still nothing is done!!! This is unacceptable situation I can’t cure my thyroid that’s a real health problem though I didn’t do dr. Al Hassan analysis and I still can’t cancel it and solve my health problem!!!

Negative experience: Great physicians in Dental, but awful booking and waiting experience. Came for appointment at 12:30, and waited for 40+ minutes. No one bothered to tell me that there is another patient, until I started asking the staff what’s going on. Definitely didn’t intend to just waste up to 1 hour of my weekend time because of the poor bookings management by the clinic.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, starting from the reception I encountered a complete unwillingness to listen to the client and to understand his needs. That's why I realized that it will only get worse since they don't listen to me and don't hear me.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 1:30PM. I arrive at 1:32PM and check in. They tell me to wait and that the nurse will call me. Few minutes later, 2 patients walk in and the doctor sees them first. I asked when will I be called? They tell me after the 2 patients even though their appointment starts at 2:30PM. The doctor asked them in because I was few minutes late, even though I came first and I am waiting outside. Very lovely way to deal with patients. Well done.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Al-Hassan is by far the best family medicine doctor I have ever seen. Very focused and competent, he usually starts with a full body scan with a zoom on what should be checked further based on the age, family history, possible risks, vital and lab results, etc. Because he's very attentive to the details and has an excellent understanding of the cause and effect, he can easily spot what needs to be checked further. Thanks to Dr. Al-Hassan who has been of a great support for me personally ad my family!
